It’s The Final Countdown!

Do do do do! Do do do do do! Do do do do! Do do do do do do dooo!

Sorry, back to my point.

Today
marks 32 days until Opening Day and I thought it’d be cool to do a
jersey number countdown and give my thought and/or predictions on that
player.

First off though, I have to say that I am sad to see the
unfortunate injury to Adam Wainwright. Guys is a gamer and you hate to
see something like this happen to anyone. I was looking forward to a
summer like last year which was more fun than I can remember in a long
time. Hopefully he’s able to return to form, get well soon, Waino.

Now, back to business. 32 days, you all know who that means!

I think Jay will have a very good season this year. It seems like a unanimous feeling that Jim Edmonds really helped Jay Bruce the last few months of last season. Edmonds is now a retired Cardinal, but Jay has a whole season to prove what he learned.

I say he has a big season with a little bit of a nervousness. I always kinda say, “I think this is Jay’s breakout year.” and he has always kind of fallen a bit short.September is traditionally Jay’s best month hitting .300/.394/.644 for his career in September. He also has more career HR and RBI in September than any other month.

I do think he breaks out this year though….fingers crossed

Fire up the DeLorean, Doc Brown

Cleaning up my apartment yesterday I found an old Reds program from May-July 2008. Looking at the 40 Man Roster inside it’s insane to see how much the roster has changed over 2 short years. I thought it might be fun to show you all, in a “Where Are They Now?” fashion, the mid-2008 Cincinnati Reds!
